Monthly roundup
Hey team! Here’s what’s been happening since the last newsletter in April…
Finished travel contract number 16, working in 14 different locations, and drove up to Alaska for contract number 17, and at my 15th location.
Living in 5 of the 6 US times zones, I’ve learned a ton about different lifestyles, views of healthy living, and how the mountains keep folks young.
Please excuse the extra social icons..this is the first newsletter going out since switching hosts. As you can see, I’m still learning. I’m on FaceBook and Instagram.
Podcast Updates
ALMOST 60 EPISODES!
Thanks to you all, the current download number for the year is at 1200. It’s a bit ahead of pace needed to hit my goal of 2000 downloads for 2025. This would double my total downloads from 2024, so again…
You guys freakin rock!
If you’re new to the party, or haven’t checked out these episodes yet, check out the list below!
The Wilderness Fitness Podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts (linked here), and YouTube.
Lessons Learned On The Alaskan Highway (A bit slow for the first 7 minutes due to the explanation of my truck breakdown)

This photo was taken Seward, AK the second weekend in June. The 25 hour fishing day was on the Kasiloff River, the last weekend in June. Not too many photos were taken once we started catching fish at 1030pm. We were filleting fish at 230AM, and fishing guides were coming to the boat ramp to launch for the morning run. It’s a lifestyle up here for sure.

Meet Missy – Dropping 47 lbs![]() | Missy joined the program October of 2023, and recently shot me a message saying she’s continued to lose weight after graduating! Here’s what she had to say… “Over the 12 weeks, I saw significant improvements in my physical health and the benefits and knowledge I gained will help me moving forward. What I appreciated most was the holistic approach—Rob also addressed critical performance factors like nutrition and sleep, which have truly optimized my overall health and fitness. This program has empowered me to take charge of my wellness long-term. Whether I’m hunting, hiking or working out, I am healthier and stronger than I ever have been.” |
Training tips
Reflection.

Chaining up for a cow elk hunt in Wyoming’s Big Horn Range with a buddy. He’s currently on his second military deployment, this was October of 2023.
Reflect on your routine (exercise or daily life)…
Are you doing the same old shit you’ve been doing because it’s comfortable?
When’s the last time you purposefully put yourself in a spot that made you sweat or pucker just a bit?
I made a post yesterday about reflection and how WiFI truly started in 2019, before I ever had the idea of running an online practice.
That’s it for this month.
Keep showing up, keep cheering each other on in and out of the fitness realm — and as always, giver hell!

Room For 2, Anyone?
I had a client recently graduate in Mid June, and another client quickly take their place.
My schedule has smoothed out a bit with settling in, so I’ve opened up my availability for 2 more folks wanting to deepen their fitness/health knowledge to have success like Missy still is 1.5 years after graduating the program.
If that’s you, start by taking the quiz HERE and schedule your Needs Assessment call to get the ball rolling.
