The Scoop When You Stop Training Completely

Cardio progress takes forever to see meaningful change..

I’m not talking months..I’m talking at least 1-2 years of diligent training.

When you stop training completely, after just 3-4 weeks your body starts to lose those adaptions.

Strength, however, improves much more quickly and sticks around for a bit longer after you completely stop training (this should rarely happen though!)

Strength starts to change after about 6-8 weeks of complete cessation of training.

What Can You Do To Prevent the Decline?

Cardio at 50% of the volume you were doing during your pre-season training.

Now, you may be getting this with your weekend warrior hiking after mule deer and elk, or whatever game you’re chasing.

If that’s you, extra cardio workouts during the week aren’t all that necessary.

Strength wise, a muscle group needs to be hit 1 time each week, at a volume of 3-4 sets, to maintain the strength adaptions.

That equates to one gym session each week for folks doing total body routines (something taught in the program).

Of note, you will start to look less sexy but you’re strength/ability to move weight will remain.

Meet Chris – Neck, Back, and Knee pain ELIMINATED!

Chris joined the program wondering what sort of results he was going to get.

He did the work and saw excellent progress during the program, and afterwards!

Here’s what Chris had to say…

In January 2024, I started the fully guided program with Rob to help with back, knee, and neck pain.

I learned exercises, and stretches to help with that pain, and also how to program a complete fitness and nutrition plan for my whole body.

I've been pain free ever since and haven't had to pay a chiropractor ever again!!

If something is hindering your ability to stay active, this program could help you too.

That’s it for this month.

Keep showing up, keep cheering each other on in and out of the fitness realm — and as always, giver hell!
